About Us
In 2003, Morton’s Moo began making artisan ice cream in a vintage shop in Downeast Maine, near Acadia National Park. Today our super-premium ice cream is still handcrafted in small batches.

On School Street since 2003
Sarah Morton started Morton’s Moo in 2003 in the small building next door. As the business grew, she bought this building and moved the shop in, and her daughter and son-in-law later ran it until 2017.
Molly and Greg Harding bought Morton’s Moo in May 2017, and the building in November 2019. Molly, a pastry chef by trade, set out to keep the recipes just as they were.
The shop opens every year from mid‑May to mid‑October, and many of the scoopers behind the counter are local students.
Visit us and you will understand why all the locals say “Meet me at the Moo!”
Classic flavors with a Maine twist
We use local ingredients whenever possible. A few you’ll taste around the shop:

-
Chai Wallahs of Maine Blue Hill
The spicy chai in our hot chai.
-
Maine sea salt
In the Salty Caramel and Dulce de Leche lattes.
-
Maine maple syrup
A topping for scoops and sundaes.
